Født i Mexico, 1982
Fernanda Melchor blev på basis af sin debutroman, Falsa Liebre, 2013 udnævnt til årets forfatterfund i Mexico og i 2015 af bl a Hay Litteraturfestivalen nævnt som en af de mest fremtrædende meksikanske forfattere under 40 år. Temporada de huracanes (Sæson for orkaner) er fra 2017 og allerede oversat til 15 sprog; filmrettigheden er også solgt. I 2019 vandt hun den tyske pris for oversat værk og i 2020 er hun nomineret til den Internationale Man Booker-pris.
